The Biblical Earth & Satans Great Beguilment on Mankind

Read Time: 7 Minutes

This week, we delve into the double Torah portion, Behar and Bechukotai, which spans from Leviticus 25:1 to 27:34. These portions, the final chapters of the book of Leviticus (Sefer Vayikra), are a profound reminder of God’s orderly statutes and His call for His people to live in alignment with His truth. The names of these portions—Behar, meaning "on the mountain," and Bechukotai, meaning "in My statutes"—point to the connection between ascending toward God and walking in His divine decrees.

In this article, we will explore the lessons of these portions, the blessings of following God’s statutes, and the broader implications for our understanding of truth, deception, and the Biblical worldview of the earth. We will also emphasise the Biblical model of the earth and how this truth has been suppressed by the lies of the world.

Behar and Bechukotai: Living in God’s Order

The Torah portion Behar begins with Moses on Mount Sinai, where God gives instructions about the land, the Sabbath, and the care for the poor. These laws emphasize order, responsibility, and compassion. The land itself was to observe a Sabbath every seven years, and debts were to be forgiven in the Jubilee year—a reminder that everything belongs to God.

Bechukotai outlines the blessings for walking in God’s statutes and the consequences of turning away. The Hebrew word Bechukotai comes from the root Chaqaq (H2710), meaning "to engrave" or "to inscribe." This imagery reminds us that God’s statutes are eternal truths, engraved in His Word and inscribed on our hearts.

God promises blessings of peace, prosperity, and His presence for those who follow His ways. However, for those who reject His order, there are consequences—self-inflicted disorder and suffering. These portions challenge us to align ourselves with God’s truth and reject the lies of the world.

Flat Earth: A Biblical Truth Suppressed

One of the most profound deceptions of our time is the rejection of the Biblical model of the earth. The Scriptures are clear in their description of the earth as a stationary, flat circle, covered by a firmament—a solid dome that separates the waters above from the waters below (Genesis 1:6-8). Yet, the world teaches us a completely different narrative: a spinning globe hurtling through space at unimaginable speeds. This contradiction is not trivial; it represents a deliberate attempt to undermine God’s Word and replace it with lies.

The Earth Is a Circle, Not a Ball

Isaiah 40:22 declares, "It is He who sits above the circle of the earth." The Hebrew word used here is chuwg (H2329), which means "circle" or "compass." If God had intended to describe the earth as a ball, the Hebrew word duwr (H1754) —used elsewhere in Scripture to describe a spherical object—would have been used. This distinction is deliberate and clear: the earth is a flat circle, not a spinning sphere.

The Earth Is Stationary

The Bible repeatedly affirms that the earth is immovable. Psalm 93:1 states, "The world is established, it cannot be moved." Similarly, Psalm 104:5 declares, "He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved." These verses directly contradict the modern narrative of a spinning globe orbiting the sun. Instead, they affirm the stationary nature of the earth, as created by God.

Satan’s Great Deception

The lie of a spinning globe is not merely a scientific debate; it is part of a larger satanic agenda to remove God from His rightful place as Creator and Ruler. Satan, the father of lies, has worked tirelessly to distort the truth and lead humanity astray. From the heliocentric model to the Big Bang theory, these lies are designed to replace the Biblical account of creation with a Godless narrative.

The Sun and Moon: Lights Created by God

Genesis 1:16 tells us that God created "the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night." The sun and moon are described as lights, not massive celestial bodies millions of miles away. Their size and distance are consistent with the flat earth model, where the sun and moon are approximately 3,000 miles above the earth and roughly 30 miles in diameter. This is evident through simple observations and basic trigonometry.

The Horizon and Perspective

The curvature of the earth is another lie perpetuated by the world. Ships and objects do not disappear over the horizon due to curvature; they simply move beyond the range of human vision. With the aid of a telescope, these objects come back into view, proving that there is no curvature. The horizon is not a point of curvature but the vanishing point of perspective.

Why the Deception?

The question arises: why would Satan and his followers go to such lengths to promote the globe model? The answer lies in their desire to undermine God’s Word and elevate humanity’s wisdom above divine truth. By convincing the world that we are insignificant beings on a tiny planet in an infinite universe, they seek to diminish the glory of God and remove Him from our lives.

Changing Times and Laws

Daniel 7:25 warns that the beast will "intend to change times and law." This includes altering our understanding of creation, time, and God’s order. The shift from a Biblical flat earth to a heliocentric model is part of this agenda, turning God’s truth upside down and replacing it with lies.

As we reflect on Emor, may we be inspired to live lives that honor God and reflect His holiness. Let us offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to Him, and proclaim His goodness to the world.

Walking in Truth Amidst Lies

As believers, we are called to reject the lies of the world and walk in God’s truth. Romans 3:4 reminds us, "Let God be true, and every man a liar." The Torah portions Behar and Bechukotai emphasize the blessings of living in alignment with God’s statutes and the consequences of turning away. This extends to our understanding of creation and the nature of the earth.

The world’s wisdom is foolishness compared to God’s truth. The more we align ourselves with His Word, the more we ascend the mountain of God, drawing closer to Him.

Conclusion

The double portion of Behar and Bechukotai challenges us to live in God’s order, care for the needy, and reject the lies of the world. It reminds us that God’s truth is eternal and unchanging, while the world’s wisdom is fleeting and deceptive. The Biblical model of the earth—a stationary, flat circle under a firmament—stands as a testament to God’s design and order.

As we navigate a world filled with deception, let us hold fast to the truth of God’s Word. Let us walk in His statutes, trusting in His promises and rejecting the chaos of the enemy. In doing so, we align ourselves with the Creator, who encircles us with His blessings and leads us to eternal life through Yeshua HaMashiach.

May this message inspire you to seek the Scriptures, discern truth, and live according to God’s statutes.

From our house to your house, shalom.
